Asian Frontier (Kitakyushu)

Environment-Responsive Next Generation Data Center

Asian Frontier, our Data Center complex built on an expanse of land in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka pref.
"GreenMall®", IDC Frontier's original solution for air-conditioning optimization, provides the best suited operation of highly integrated servers while at the same time enabling high energy efficiency.

In addition, Asian Frontier, a next generation Data Center which is environmentally responsive, can be built module by module as demand increases, enabling installation of state-of-the-art technology every now and then.

Away from the capital and within the area which has relatively low probability of great earthquake occurrence, Asian Frontier is most suited for a disaster recovery site.

Used with the Managed GSLB∗ Service, Customer business will benefit from load dispersion among multiple Data Centers and automatic switchover to a backup site in case Customer's primary site is impacted by a massive disaster or failure.

Please consult with us if you have a large-scale business deal or considering transferring your business to Asia.

Features of Asian Frontier

GreenMall® Enables High Integration and Energy Saving

"GreenMall®" - dedicated to efficient heat circulation and effective air-conditioning - achieves reduction of power usage for air-conditioning and CO2 emission, while providing a well-suited environment for highly integrated servers, such as blade servers.

GreenMall® Freatures

(1) Highly-raised access floor & high ceiling which reduce amount of power used for air-conditioning

(2) Outside air cooling system which sucks in outside air for cooling and blow out waste heat

(3) Efficient air-conditioning by totally isolating hot air from cool air using the hot isle containment method.

The First of Its Kind! - "Modular-Based Method"

Asian Frontier is built with the module method: as demand increases, a new module, or a building, is added. This enables us to install the state-of-the-art technology every now and then, as well as shortening a construction period.

We have enough space to build up to 12 modules, which confirms our massive scalability.

Best Choice for Disaster Recovery

According to National Seismic Hazard Map (issued by the Headquarters for Earthquake Research Promotion, MEXT), probability of earthquake occurrence equal to or larger than seismic intensity "6 lower" is much lower than that of the three Japanese major cities, Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, which are between 6% and 26%.

Also, according to City of Kitakyushu Disaster Prevention Information Map (issued by Kita-Kyushu City Construction Bureau), where Asian Frontier is located is one of the least risky areas of natural disasters such as river flood or landslide.

The fact that it is accessble from two airports, Fukuoka and Kitakyushu, and walking distance from the nearest train station makes Asian Frontier an ideal place for a disaster recovery center.

National Seismic Hazard Maps for Japan (2008), published by the Earthquake Research Committee, the Headquarters for Earthquake Research Promotion. It is created based on the distribution map of probalities of ground mortions equal to or larger than seismic intensity "6 Lower," occurring within 30 years from the present (average base)

Facilities

Large Capacity Power Supply

Power supplied using the main & backup line method. As an emergency power supply, Asian Frontier is fully-equipped with an uninterruptible power system (UPS) and a gas turbine power generator with fuel enough to operate for full 24 hours.

Asian Frontier would satisfy Customers looking for a Data Center with high power supply ability per rack.

Kitakyushu Operation Center

Access Control by Biometric Authentication

Asian Frontier is equipped with reliable biometric security systems, such as palm authentication devices and access portals to prevent piggybacking by measuring an accessor's weight and outline.

Security Portals

Office Space

Customer office space is provided within the Data Center. It can be used as offices for daily operation, reserved offices for DR, or storages for backup equipment.
USP power is installable.
